Project information
Enter your project once. Every tool behind this page pre-fills from what you enter here, so the data stays consistent and you stop re-entering the same numbers.
Step 1 of 6
What type of project is this?
Your answer routes you to the right calculator and strategy tools. Every section that follows adjusts based on this selection.
Remodel covers everything from cosmetic renovation to full gut retrofit. You will have the option to specify scope depth on the next screen.

Who are you and what is this project?
This information pre-fills the save panel on all tool pages so you never have to enter it twice.

Location and site
ZIP code auto-fills climate zone, electricity rate, and regional cost multiplier. These drive every calculation in the platform.
Auto-set from ZIP. You can override it here — zone drives all energy and upgrade calculations.

Building data
Building type, size, and budget are the primary drivers for every cost and savings calculation.
Building type
Used by LEED for Homes, ENERGY STAR, DOE ZERH, and Phius — each sets thresholds per bedroom. Enter bedrooms in a single unit, not the building total.
Building size
Primary driver for energy, HVAC, and cost calculations.
Used for sprinkler cost estimates. Leave blank to use heated area.
For WaterSense ROI calculations.
Space inventory (optional)
Room and space counts feed upgrade scope calculations, ROI estimates, and owner-facing reports. More detail means more targeted recommendations.

BIM and energy model
If you have a BIM model or energy model, the platform can use that data instead of zone estimates. If not, every calculation falls back to climate zone defaults.
BIM model
ArchDATUM Takeoff available. The platform includes ArchDATUM_Takeoff.py — a Python exporter that pulls element quantities by CSI Division 02-26 directly from your ArchiCAD model. Run it to pre-populate insulation, window, roof, floor, and HVAC quantities instead of using sqft estimates. Download plugin →
Revit: A Dynamo script export is on the Phase 2 roadmap. For now, you can manually enter key quantities (wall area, window area, roof area) in the ROI calculator to override sqft estimates.
Energy model
Replaces zone default estimate in ROI calculations.
Replaces rule-of-thumb right-sizing estimate.
If you have a full model output, the ROI calculator accepts manual EUI and tonnage overrides on its inputs panel.
No model? No problem. Every calculation uses IECC climate zone defaults from EIA RECS 2020 and DOE zone data. You can override individual values in each tool.

Step 6 of 6
Project goals and constraints
Select everything that applies. The ROI calculator uses this to prioritize strategies and flag which goals are in tension with your budget or timeline.
Goals (select all that apply)
Selecting "Signatory firm" enables pEUI tracking and 25-year carbon projection output on the ROI page. Target: 90% reduction vs. CBECS 2003 baseline by 2025, 100% by 2030.

ROI goal
8 years
Strategies that beat this payback are flagged green on the ROI page. Default is 8 years.

A GC in preconstruction increases budget confidence. When selected, the ROI calculator enables GC cost override mode so verified quotes replace regional estimates.
